Is breastfeeding better for little ones over fourmula?
So since becoming a mother, I have become quite curious about whether breastfeeding is what is best for my baby? I mean let's face it we live in a word where we need to do what is considered social norms and what society thinks we should do. I guess the reason this topic has meaning to me is that now that I'm a mother I want to do what's best for my child. But did you know there is also another alternative to breastfeeding and formula? It's Called Eaping. But I will get a little more into that later down the road. My main questions about this topic are why is breast milk better for babies than formula if that's what you agree with? Also, why do we put so much pressure on mothers who are already stressed as it is to shove breastfeeding down their throats? Also if its such a big deal and we should all do it then why do we judge a woman who is out in public doing it and telling them to get a bottle instead? I guess you could say I'm just curious about the benefits of it and why it is a big no no to formula feed your baby. I will be doing some research on the topic, and right now I'm in the middle of what side I agree with because from social media thus far has shown me the perks of breastfeeding and formula feeding and why breastfeeding may not be possible for every woman. I feel like be the end of this I will have picked a side, or maybe I could be split down the middle and agree on both. I am going to include this video about this subject because I feel like it has some useful information on this topic and it shows both sides of the argument.
Hi, April, It is interesting that somebody thinks that formula can be better than breastfeeding for a baby. I have three children and I’m sure that breastfeeding is the best option. Gamma globulins, that are contained in breast milk, cannot replace even the best formula. I would add to your post many advantages of breastfeeding. I agree with you that any mother wants the best for her child. After all, any mom regardless of whether she was breastfeeding or using formula, loves her kid and this is most important things for the child.
Hello April, I am very interested in your topic because my daughter became a mother 10 months ago and has a little girl. I have never heard of Eaping. I want to Google it now yet will hold off so I can read about it in your future blog posts. You raise a lot of good questions so I am looking forward to reading what you find out. I loved the “happy baby, happy mother” concept stated in the video. I was surprised to read that social norms continue to influence new moms about their choice whether to breast or bottle feed. I recently learned about breast milk donor banks as another option for moms who choose to bottle feed yet can still give their baby breast milk. I would like to learn more about donor banks so hopefully you will cover this in your blog. I have one more question. If breast feeding in public is taboo, do restaurants and other public places offer a room to moms so they can feed their baby in private?
